Beets and oats make the perfect combination for a soft chewy tasty burger. This one is very easy to make and makes a lite evening snack or a midday brunch...
Beetroots[large]: 4.
Oats: 5 tbsp.
Cumin powder: 1 tsp.
Dry mango powder [amchoor powder]: 1-2 tsp.
Egg white: 1.
Coriander leaves[chopped]: 2-3 tbsp.
Chilli powder: 1-2 tsp.
Salt: to taste.
To fry:
Bread crumbs: as required.
Oil: to shallow fry the burgers.
1.Peel and grate the beets. Set aside.
2.Whiz the oats in a mixer grinder to a powder. Beat the egg white until frothy.
3.Mix all the ingredients together. Check for salt. Keep refrigerated for 30 mins.
4.Make equal sized patties. Coat with bread crumbs.
5.Shallow fry in pan with a drizzle of oil.
Serve hot on a bed of grated carrots with ketchup.
Note: The patties will be quite mushy and soft, so be gentle when rolling them in bread crumbs. Once on the pan they will firm up and will not break. If the mix is too watery add 1-2 tbsp of ground oats.
